Tension in Owerri Imo State as youths kill one Hausa Trader

There is tension now in Owerri the capital city of Imo State as one Hausa trader at Mbaise Road junction identified as Saidu was bitten to death by some angry youths and indigenes of the capital city.
Trouble started when some youths from Umuodu community went to collect "their revenue" (Marching ground fee) from some traders who
operates at the Mbaise road junction when an augment between the revenue collectors and the hausa traders who argued about the amount to be paid and the frequency of the pay.

The argument got heated up that the hausa trader insisted that he
would not pay immediately since he has not sold much for the day pulled out his dagger and stabbed somebody among them.
The action angered the youths who suddenly pounced on the trader and cut him in pieces with matchet.

The gory scene cost stampede along the road and among traders and passerby's as armed police men and army were drafted to the scene to quell the situation.

The Imo State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Andrew Enwerem, said that he cannot comment on the incident because he has not gotten the full details of what happened but promise to talk to newsmen when the got the full detail.
