Senator Jim Nwobodo, the former governor of old Anambra State, has lost his son, Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, to cancer.
Ifeanyi who served as commissioner of Science and Technology in the last administration reportedly died at a private hospital in Enugu on Friday.
It was gathered that the deceased recently returned from Huston Texas, US, where he had been receiving treatment for the disease.
Senator Nwobodo, said the late doctor was discharged from one of the best cancer treatment centers in the US before returning to Nigeria. He said this when governor Elechi Amadi of Ebonyi state came to pay him a condolence visit on Sunday.
He said the late doctor suddenly passed on, after complaining of a sharp pain on his leg. Meanwhile, he said the family had a massive thanksgiving ceremony to thank God for their son's recovery but their joy was cut short by the sudden death.
