The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian ruling party Peoples Democratic Party has in one voice endorsed the sole candidacy of the incumbent President of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebere Jonathan to run for presidential position position in the 2015 general election.
The NEC is the highest decision making organ of the party.This decisions was reached at the council's meeting in Abuja.
PDP Governors in attendance are; Akpabio, Sullivan Chime (Enugu); Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta); Jonah Jang (Plateau); Theodore Orji (Abia); Idris Wada (Kogi); Ramalan Yero (Kaduna); Ibrahim Dankwabo (Gombe); Saidu Dakingari (Kebbi); Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa); Liyel Imoke (Cross River); Gabriel Suswam (Benue); Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Umar Fintiri (Adamawa); Garba Umar (Taraba); Deputy Governor of Jigawa; Deputy Governor of Sokoto; and Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State. The decision is to rectified by the National convention of the party slated to hold by December 6, 2014.
