Jos Blast : See update on casualty level

The Nigerian police has confirmed that a bomb blast occurred at the terminus market area of Jos, the Plateau state capital today's evening which killed about 31 person's and injured many.

An official of the Plateau state government however told AFP that 31 bodies have so far been recovered from the site of the blast.
“The bodies recovered so far are 31 but rescue workers are at the scene and the figures may change,” said Pam Ayuba, Governor Jonah Jang’s spokesperson.

Plateau state Police command's Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Abu, confirmed the blast.
According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos, the police PRO Abu said policemen had been
deployed to the scene of the blast to
ascertain the situation and save lives

“We just heard of the blast; our men have rushed to the area. We are yet to get the details of what happened, we will get back to you as soon as the details are available,’’ he
said.

Also speaking, Mr Yohanna Audu, Public Relations Officer, National Emergency Management Agency
(NEMA), North- Central Zone, said
that officials of the agency were on their way to the scene of the blast.

“We heard of the blast and we are on our way to the scene to see whether we can save lives of those that need help.
“NEMA will ascertain the casualty level and see how it will assist those that were injured and remove the dead bodies, if any,’’ Audu
said.

Nigerian Troops recovers Boko Haram's documents containing Names of towns to be attacked

    The Nigerian army fighting the Boko haram insurgence in the northeast says it has obtained documents containing a comprehensive and detailed list and attack plans of communities about to be attacked by the insurgence.

The document which contains names and geographical layouts of towns were recovered from the fleeing terrorists in Adamawa State.

PRNigeria reports that the Spokesman of the military General Chris Olukolade confirmed the development and added that the troops also killed 27 suspected terrorists during fierce a confrontations with the insurgence in  Adamawa and Bauchi states while six soldiers were wounded in the encounter.

In his word, Olukolade said: 

“In a hot pursue of the terrorists around Hildi, Adamawa State, at least seven of the terrorists lost their lives while a total of five rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition as well as bows and arrows were captured from them.
“During another special raid operation conducted on Balmo and Lame forests linking Borno, Bauchi and Adamawa states, the determined troops recovered rifles and a number of motorcycles after a stiff resistance by terrorists were crushed.
“Over 20 of them lost their lives while some were reported wounded.
“At the end of the encounter, troops
eventually took firm control of the forest Location.”

Boko Haram releases video of their new Caliphate

The Deadly Islamist group- Boko Haram has again released a new video showing how some towns captured by the group are being ruled.
The towns are said to be the ones captured and renamed recently by the group in the North-Eastern Nigeria as their new Islamic caliphate.
Shekau, was shown expressing solidarity with ISIS and other Islamist group.

According to the French News Agency (AFP), which obtained the video, the video shows, Abubakar Shekau, preaching to residents of a yet to be identified town who gathered to listen to his preachings.
In the video, armoured tanks and  Hilux vans, belonging to the sect and large number of terrorists in full ready- combat gears were seen patrolling the streets while civilians made up of children and adults lined the street to watch them display their brevity against the Nigerian military.

     Abubakar Shekau, has proved he is invincible  by releasing a new video. The leader of the Boko Haram sect released another vidoe to put to doubt about his Purported death by the Nigerian army. 

Defense headquarters dismisses shakau's new video

    The Nigerian Military has dismissed the new video AFP has claimed it has. The video is said to have Shekau claiming he's still alive and well.

It said the group might have manipulated pictures to clone another Shekau or upload a pre-recorded video all in a bid to prove invincible.

The AFP had on Thursday, in a new video claimed Shekau was alive and hadimplemented strict Islamic law incaptured town.

“Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath,” Shekau said in the 36-minute video, adding that his group was “running our…Islamic caliphate” and administering sharia punishments.

The statement which was published on Nigerian Defence Headquarters website reads:

“The Defence Headquarters is
studying the claims made in the video purportedly released by the terrorists showing their leader Abubakar Shekau as dismissing his death.

“From immediate observation and what some online news outlets claimed to have seen, the video did not indicate when it was shot neither did it show any proof of life or currency such as
screen time or date. The video also did not make any reference to anything that has happened since the impostor’s reported death.

“It is also noteworthy that the airplane said to be mentioned in the video had been missing before he was killed. It should not surprise anybody if the terrorists decide to manipulate pictures, clone another Shekau or upload a pre- recorded video all in a bid to prove invincible.
“As far as we are concerned, the
individual who was appearing in video and claiming to be the leader of the terrorist group was killed in the Kondunga battle in September. The resemblance of the corpse and that of the eccentric character was
incontrovertible. His identity was
equally corroborated by people who
knew him before we announced his
death.

“So, while waiting to see the new video before any further statement, our message to them is that justice will be served to whoever bears that name or designation and whoever that is, will face the same fate as Shekau.
