Reports say an unidentified lady was this morning lynched and burnt to death in Muda Lawal market in Bauchi state.
The lady allegedly refused to surrender herself to be searched by civilian volunteer security personnel as a measure to forestall recurrent suicide bombing in the area when the angry mob suspected her to be a suicide bomber and burnt her to death.
The police say the lady had died before their men could arrive at the scene of the incident.

The statement from the Bauchi state police command reads......
“On the 1/3/2015 at about 0700hrs,information at our disposal revealed that a yet to be identified Lady who allegedly refused to allow herself to be screened at the entrance of Muda Lawal Market Bauchi was attacked by irate mob who took law into their hands and set her ablaze,as a result, she died on the spot before rescue could
come.
“Police patrol teams including Explosive ordinance disposal unit rushed to the scene, dispersed the rampaging crowd and restored
normalcy in the Area.
